RoboCup is one of the world’s most prestigious robotics competitions. In 2017, I led a four-member team in the RoboCup Junior Soccer category, where we won the world championship in the SuperTeam Challenge. We came back in 2018 and took 2nd place in Montreal.
The work spanned hardware, embedded code, and competitive algorithm tuning, as part of the UCSP Robotics Research Group, where I was a member from 2017 to 2023. It is still the best training I’ve had for debugging under pressure: when the robot fails in front of the referee, there is no “works on my machine.”
